Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially. While the student attempts to report some main features and comparisons from the table, such as identifying the 16–20 age group as having the highest figures (male 19, female 18) and the 51+ group as having the lowest, the selection of data is erratic and lacks clarity. Some ideas are limited and under-developed, and the overview is poorly formulated with expressions like 'the biggest ages of years'. Key data points are mentioned, but the overall presentation fails to provide a fully developed or logically consistent summary of the trends present in the visual data.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organisation into paragraphs, but the response lacks clear overall progression. The logical flow is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing phrasing, such as 'According to the table there are lots of numbers male and female with agr and years.' Cohesive devices are used inadequately or inaccurately, and referencing is often unclear (for example, using 'An explain' to introduce a point). Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structuring within paragraphs fails to guide the reader smoothly through the comparison of data.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices that cause some difficulty for the reader, such as 'ratio of hours', 'biggest ages of years', 'minnor decrease', and 'agr'. The student attempts to use some task-related terms, but spelling and word choice inaccuracies (e.g., 'beacuse') restrict precision and fluency, keeping the response at a basic lexical level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures. Attempts at complex or comparative sentences are frequently faulty, leading to ungrammatical constructions such as '26-30 age is different as compare to others male and female Therefore, both are same value in this lines.' There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, prepositions, and punctuation, which can cause strain and difficulty for the reader in understanding the intended meaning.
