Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all parts of the task by reporting the main features of the table and providing relevant comparisons. You present an adequate overview at the beginning by identifying that individuals aged 16-20 spent the most time on the internet while those aged 51+ spent the least. However, some parts of the response are more fully developed than others. While the highest and lowest points are noted, the detailed breakdown of every single age group tends to read like a mechanical list of data points without sufficient extension or deep comparison between all categories, which keeps the response at this level. To reach a higher standard, you should integrate the data more analytically rather than listing each row sequentially.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

Your writing displays a coherent overall arrangement and a logical progression of ideas from the introduction to the body paragraphs and conclusion. You make use of standard cohesive devices and transition signals such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore' to structure your response. However, cohesion is at times slightly mechanical or repetitive in its sentence openings, and referencing is occasionally basic. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the introduction, overview, and body details. To move into the higher band, you would need to use a wider and more flexible variety of cohesive devices while ensuring that the transitions between sentences feel entirely natural and unobtrusive rather than formulaic.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'allocated', 'sequentially', and 'utilized'. However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies and awkward word choices throughout the text. For example, 'age group masses' is unnatural, 'on the least spot' is an incorrect collocation, and 'sequentialy' contains a spelling error. Furthermore, confusing 'social media' with 'internet' demonstrates an imprecise use of terminology since the table refers to internet usage generally. These vocabulary choices and spelling errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict your score. To improve, focus on precise collocations and check your spelling of less common words.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating that you can construct multi-clause sentences such as 'Deep analysis of given data reveals that both sexes from age group of 16-20 years were on the top...'. However, there are some persistent errors in grammar and punctuation, particularly regarding articles and prepositions. Examples include missing articles ('The presented table *demonstrate*' where the verb does not match the singular subject, and 'from age group'), incorrect prepositions ('on internet' instead of 'on the internet'), and awkward phrasing like 'individuals range from 31 to 50 years'. While these errors rarely impede overall communication, they occur regularly enough to prevent a higher rating. To advance, work on subject-verb agreement, article use, and prepositional patterns within complex structures.
