Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main peak and low point: the 16–20 group has the highest figures for both sexes, while people aged 51+ have the lowest. Most figures you include match the table, and you make relevant male–female comparisons. However, the overview claim that men spend more time than women is too broad: women equal or exceed men in the 26–30, 31–50 and 51+ groups. The final comparison is unfinished, and the response does not fully summarise the pattern across all age groups. It is also 21 words below the required minimum, which limits the detail you can provide. Include a complete overview and finish by reporting the older groups’ figures accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to age-group details. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin,” “In addition,” and “finally” help signal progression, and the figures are generally presented in age order. However, the progression becomes difficult to follow in the long sentence beginning “While age group of 26-30,” where two comparisons are joined without a clear structure. The final phrase is incomplete, so the report ends abruptly rather than concluding its description. Some linking is also mechanical, with several sentences simply listing figures. Use separate, clearly organised sentences for the remaining age groups and ensure the final point is complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “average,” “age group,” “highest rate,” and “lowest,” so the reader can identify the topic and key comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “time spendings,” “consumed internet,” and “shows that they consumed internet significantly.” These expressions make the description less natural and occasionally obscure whether you mean hours spent online. “Grands” is also an unsuitable term for the 51+ age group, and the final wording is corrupted. Aim for precise, repeated-use-safe phrases such as “spent an average of … hours online” and “recorded the lowest figure.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and more complex structures, including “While age group of 26-30 shows…” and a comparison using “respectively.” However, errors occur frequently and sometimes make the relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “men spents,” “youngsters consumes,” and “people' who is,” which show problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence construction. The phrase “age group of from sixteen to twenty” also has an incorrect grammatical pattern, while “it amounts of 7” is not formed correctly. The long sentence about the 26–30 and 31–50 groups is difficult to control. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build comparisons in shorter, complete sentences.
