Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main peak and low point: the 16–20 group has the highest figures, while people aged 51+ have the lowest. However, the overview is incomplete and partly inaccurate: the claim that males spend more in “most” age brackets overlooks that females are higher in the 31–50 and 51+ groups, and the sexes are equal at 26–30. There is also a significant reporting error: “26-20 bracket” is used for the 16–20 group, and the male figure of 19 is followed by no female figure in the overview sentence. The body lists many values, but the comparisons and key patterns are under-developed. State the overall age-related pattern clearly and compare the sexes accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, separate paragraphs for male and female figures, and a concluding overview, so there is some organisation. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the overview appears after the detailed descriptions, and the repeated openings “The first bracket…” make the body mechanical rather than synthesising the data. The phrase “in the 26-20 bracket” also disrupts the reader’s understanding of which age group is being discussed. Linking is limited, and several long sentences join multiple figures without clear punctuation or transitions. Put the overview immediately after the introduction, then group the age bands by shared patterns or contrasts, using clear references such as “By contrast” and “In the older groups.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “average hours,” “age group,” “bracket,” and “screen time,” and the reader can generally identify the subject of each paragraph. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or awkward, such as “highers spent,” “maximum screentime is 18 hours has been stated,” and “the graph presents” when describing a table. Spelling errors such as “gorup” and “brakcet” also reduce precision. Repetition of “consists of” and “hours spent” makes the descriptions less flexible. Aim for concise reporting verbs and accurate collocations, for example, “recorded,” “spent,” “figure,” and “was higher than.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts longer sentences and uses some comparative structures, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “Male gorup spend 19 hours and Female group spend, and…” contains an incomplete clause, while “the age group which spends the least time … is of 51+” has an awkward and unclear construction. Agreement and verb forms are inconsistent in “Female group have 6 hours spent,” and punctuation is frequently missing after introductory phrases and around clauses. These errors sometimes make relationships between figures difficult to follow. Use shorter, complete sentences to report each comparison, and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries before combining clauses.
