Student answer (Band 5.0)
here is a table in which it shows the information about the time spent on internet by European people. there are total of 6 age groups starting from 11 years to 15 years, the kids of these ages spent almost 6-8 hours on the internet if we see more precisely there is 2 hour difference in male and female male kids are spending 8hrs while females are 6 hrs. then there is another age group of people from 16-20 they are hovering on the internet for almost 18-19 hrs.. which is not good. then the people in early 20s from 21-25 they are using it for 7-5 hours.. while the difference between ratio of male and female is 2 hours.. male is using more than the female. then come people between 26-30 they are using it for 4 hours approximately. and then people in early thirties to middle age or above are using it for 2-4 hours. if we comapre the data teenagers are more active on the internet then the adults and over consumingg it which is concerning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main pattern that the 16–20 group spends the most time online and that usage is generally lower among older groups. You also include several relevant figures, such as 8 versus 6 hours for ages 11–15 and 19 versus 18 for ages 16–20. However, the response is only partly effective as a summary: it has no clearly separated overview, and the final claim that teenagers are more active than adults is broad and does not distinguish the peak at 16–20 from the other teenage group. Some data are also imprecise: ages 31–50 are 3 hours for males and 4 for females, while 51+ are 2 and 3, rather than a single range of 2–4. State the key comparisons clearly and report each age group accurately to strengthen coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response follows the age groups in table order, so the reader can generally track which figures are being discussed. However, it is presented as one long paragraph, with no clear introduction, overview, or body grouping. The repeated sequence of “then” and “then come” makes the progression mechanical, while phrases such as “if we see more precisely” and “if we compare the data” do not create clear links between the main features. The final comment about overconsumption also shifts from describing the table to giving an opinion, weakening the ending. Organise the response into paragraphs and use a concise overview to connect the most important patterns before giving supporting figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the topic and make some comparisons, including “age groups,” “difference,” and “approximately.” However, the range is limited and several choices are informal or imprecise for an academic report. “Hovering on the internet” is not a natural way to describe time spent online, and “which is not good” and “over consuming it which is concerning” introduce subjective language rather than neutral description. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “comapre” and “over consumingg,” and inconsistent forms such as “internet” and “Internet.” Choose precise, neutral reporting language and check spelling; for example, describe figures as “spending” or “using” a number of hours online and identify the highest or lowest values.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentence forms, including clauses beginning “if we see more precisely” and “if we compare the data,” but the response relies mainly on simple, loosely connected statements. Frequent errors in sentence boundaries, articles, and agreement make the writing less controlled: “here is a table in which it shows” is an awkward construction, and “there are total of 6 age groups” is missing an article. Several sentences run together with full stops or commas used inconsistently, while “male kids are spending 8hrs while females are 6 hrs” omits a verb in the second clause. Use complete, clearly punctuated sentences and vary sentence structures while checking articles and parallel verb forms.
