Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You report all six age groups and their male/female figures accurately, and your overview identifies the 16–20 group as the highest and those aged 51+ as the lowest. However, the overview is brief and does not bring out the broader pattern that internet use generally falls after the 16–20 peak, nor the small exceptions where women exceed men in older groups. The response is also 147 words, below the required 150; the eight words copied from the task prompt are excluded from the count. To strengthen the summary, add a concise comparison of the overall age trend and the gender pattern, rather than mainly listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by two paragraphs covering the age groups. This makes the information reasonably easy to locate. However, progression is mostly a sequence of separate data statements, with limited comparison between groups. The linkers “while” and “respectively” help in places, but some connections are awkward, as in “Male and female average hours … was quiet 3 and 4.” Grouping the peak and subsequent decline together, then comparing the smaller differences by gender, would create a clearer line of development. Use linking expressions selectively and ensure each paragraph has a clear comparative focus.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary such as “average time,” “age group,” “recorded,” and “respectively,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, including “mainly using internet,” “internet usage,” and “very less hours.” There are also spelling and word-form slips, such as “diferent” and “european,” which reduce accuracy. Aim for concise, conventional language for describing data, and avoid repeating “internet” and “hours” where a more precise phrase can be used. More accurate collocations would make the comparisons sound clearer and more formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including comparisons with “while,” and most figures remain understandable. However, errors recur in sentence construction and agreement. For example, “16-20 age group boys and girls showed significant difference between hours recording exactly 19 and 18” is awkwardly formed, while “Male and female average hours … was” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The opening phrase “Age between 11-15 years recorded” also gives the age group an unclear role as the subject. Practise building sentences around the people or the figures, check singular and plural agreement, and use articles and prepositions consistently. These changes would improve control without sacrificing variety.
