Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You report the figures for all six age groups accurately, including the peak for 16–20-year-olds (19 hours for males and 18 for females) and the equal four-hour figures for ages 26–30. Your overview also identifies the broad pattern that internet use is highest among younger people and lower among older groups. However, “the maximum number of people” is not precise: the table shows hours of use, not numbers of people. The overview could also make the key comparison clearer by noting that males record higher figures in most groups, while females are slightly higher in the two oldest groups. This covers the task, though some important features are less fully expressed than others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview are followed by details for the age groups, with the younger groups presented before the older ones. This gives the information a generally coherent arrangement. Some linking is mechanical, however: “First and foremost” and “In the contrast” do not create especially natural transitions in a data report. The overview’s final fragment, “The numbers in hours,” also interrupts the flow, and the long sequence of age-group comparisons would be easier to follow if grouped into two clear paragraphs. Use straightforward links such as “By comparison” and “Among people aged 26 and over,” and ensure each sentence connects clearly to the point before it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main data, including “average hours,” “age group,” and “spent.” However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or informal for an academic report. “Maximum number of people” confuses the number of users with their hours of use, while “girls,” “boys,” and “ladies” are less suitable than neutral terms such as “females” or “women” for these age categories. Phrases such as “information of different age” and “use internet” are also awkward collocations. Aim for precise, repeated terminology—“internet use,” “hours spent online,” and “the 16–20 age group”—rather than varying labels in ways that reduce clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your response includes mostly simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to combine comparisons, and the figures remain understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “the maximum number of people … uses internet” has agreement and article problems, while “the age from 11 to 15years male spent” lacks a clear grammatical structure. There are also errors in verb forms and sentence boundaries, as in “female use internet” and the fragment “The numbers in hours.” Punctuation spacing is uneven, including the space before the full stop in the overview. Build accurate comparison sentences first, then add a few controlled complex forms, for example: “Among 16–20-year-olds, males spent 19 hours online, compared with 18 hours for females.”
