Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main pattern: internet use peaks among 16–20-year-olds and is lowest among people aged 51+, and you report the peak and lowest figures accurately. You also include comparisons for the 11–15 and 26–30 groups. However, the overview is unclear in places, particularly “maximum from teenger age,” and the comparison for ages 21–25 is inaccurate: males used the internet for 7 hours, which is 2 hours more than females, not “2 hours extre” in a way that clearly identifies the correct figure. The final comparison for ages 31–50 is accurate but not explicitly linked to that age group. A clearer overview and more precise reporting of each comparison would make the key features easier to understand.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details, and it groups some age comparisons together. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “In detail,” and “Moreover” help signal the stages of the report. However, progression is not consistently clear: the final sentence gives the 31–50 figures without naming the age group, while “In last” does not clearly show how this information relates to the preceding comparison. Some transitions, including “However,” do not express a clear contrast. Organise the body in a more predictable sequence of age groups and use explicit references to each group so readers can follow the comparisons without having to infer them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing the table, including “average time,” “age groups,” “maximum,” and “least.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, such as “time spent on the network,” “utilized by males,” and “spent their time on online.” “Teenager age” and “mid-twentees” are also imprecise, and the spelling error “teenger” reduces accuracy. Repeating “spent” and “hours” makes the description less flexible. Aim for standard report language such as “hours spent online,” “recorded,” and “the oldest age group,” while checking spelling and choosing expressions that describe the data directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “while” and a relative clause beginning “which.” The main comparisons are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors make the relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “people who spent their time on internet was the maximum” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an awkward clause structure; “most of time spent by age 16-20” is also missing a clear verb. In “people which was in mid-twentees,” the relative pronoun and verb do not agree with the plural noun. Work on complete sentence patterns, articles, and agreement, and make sure each sentence clearly identifies who or what the figures describe.
