Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main pattern that the 16–20 group spends the most time online and that the 51+ group spends the least, and you include some relevant comparisons, such as equal figures for ages 26–30 and women spending one hour more in the 31–50 group. However, the account is only partial: it does not report the peak values (19 hours for males and 18 for females), and the statement that 11–15-year-olds spend “less than 9 hours” is too vague to show the male–female difference. The claim that the youngest group spends less than the oldest is also not supported by the table. The response is 139 words, below the required 150, which limits the detail provided. Add accurate key figures and a clearer overview.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic structure, with an opening, an overview, and a final paragraph containing comparisons. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Additionally,” and “Meanwhile” help signal relationships between points. However, progression is not consistently clear: the overview repeats the highest and lowest groups, while the later paragraphs revisit the 26–30 comparison and introduce broad statements such as “older populations consumed the less hours” without specifying the relevant figures. Some links feel mechanical, and the final paragraph does not develop a clear sequence of comparisons. Organise the body by age patterns—for example, the peak and subsequent decline, followed by the smaller gender differences—and use references that make each comparison explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “average hours,” “age groups,” “consumed,” and “comparatively,” and the reader can generally understand the intended meaning. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “the most noticeable feature.” However, several word combinations are unnatural or imprecise: “time spending on the internet,” “hours on spending on the digital platforms,” and “greater hours of their lifes.” “Social media” is not an accurate substitute for Internet use, and “consumed the less hours” is awkward. These choices sometimes make the description less clear. Prefer standard data-reporting language such as “spent online,” “recorded the highest figure,” and “the lowest number of hours,” and use “Internet” consistently.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt several sentence forms, including comparisons introduced by “whereas” and “Meanwhile,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, the range is limited and errors recur in basic sentence construction. For example, “both genders of age groups 16-20 had” has an unclear subject, while “people spend less than 9 hours to engaged” combines an inconsistent verb form with an incorrect infinitive pattern. In “female of aged 31-50 spend,” the noun phrase and verb form are not controlled, and “the greater hours” also shows problems with article and comparative structure. Punctuation is inconsistent, including the missing space after the full stop in “internet.The.” Practise accurate subject–verb patterns and past-tense reporting, then proofread sentence boundaries and articles.
