Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the table’s topic and report several accurate comparisons: for ages 11–15 and 16–20, males record 8 and 19 hours versus females’ 6 and 18, and you correctly note equal figures of 4 hours for ages 26–30. However, the response gives no clear overview of the main pattern, and it stops after beginning the 31–50 age group. The 51+ figures are also omitted, so the age groups are not covered adequately. Some descriptions are difficult to interpret, such as “more use the internet on female.” To improve, summarise the overall pattern first—usage peaks among 16–20-year-olds and generally falls in older groups—then report the remaining comparisons, including the 31–50 and 51+ figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic sequence through several age groups, and repeated phrases such as “And 16 to 20” help signal that you are moving to another comparison. However, the response is not arranged into clear paragraphs or a complete overview-and-details structure. The repeated “male and female comparison” pattern makes the progression mechanical, while connectors such as “And other” and “the other hand” do not clearly express the relationships between points. The final line, “The age of 31 to 50,” is unfinished, leaving the report without a conclusion to its data sequence. Group the information into an overview and one or two detail paragraphs, and use clear links such as “By contrast” or “In the older groups” to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on “use the internet,” “male,” “female,” and “hours.” This limits precision and makes several comparisons awkward, for example “the male was more use the internet on female.” Some key terms are understandable, and you attempt to describe equality with “equal,” but spelling errors such as “europen,” “summaro,” “hourse,” and “hourse” reduce accuracy. Build a small range of task-specific expressions, including “spend,” “record,” “usage,” and “compared with,” and use “men” and “women” or “male users” and “female users” consistently. Check spelling and choose natural collocations so the figures are easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The response relies mainly on short, simple statements, and frequent errors in sentence structure and verb forms often make the comparisons difficult to follow. For example, “The 11 to 15 Year old male more use the internet on female” lacks a clear verb construction, while “the female was use 6 hours” uses an incorrect verb form. Articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “The male and female was equal the use of internet.” The final fragment, “The age of 31 to 50,” is not a complete sentence. Practise accurate patterns such as “Males aged 11–15 spent 8 hours online, compared with 6 hours for females,” and vary these with simple comparative clauses.
