Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You include figures from all six age groups, and the reported male and female values match the table. However, the response mainly lists each group in turn rather than selecting and summarising the main features. It does not give a clear overview, such as noting that 16–20-year-olds have the highest figures for both sexes and that internet use generally falls among older groups. Some added claims—for example, that people watch reels, hear news, or use the internet to stay busy—are not shown by the table and do not help describe its data. To make the response more fully relevant, focus on the overall pattern and the most useful comparisons, without speculating about users’ activities.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response follows the age groups in the same order as the table, so readers can identify which figures belong to each group. However, the ideas are presented as one long block, with no clear paragraphing or overview to guide the reader. Transitions such as “First step,” “Second step,” and “Next level” create a mechanical sequence rather than showing meaningful comparisons. Several sentences also run together, making the progression harder to follow. Organise the response into a brief introduction, an overview, and a paragraph comparing the figures; use linking phrases to highlight similarities and contrasts, such as the close male–female figures among the youngest groups.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant terms, including “average hours,” “age groups,” and “males” and “females,” which help communicate the table’s subject. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often informal or unsuitable for an academic data summary. Phrases such as “watching different videos,” “scroll[e] reels,” and “making gosseps” introduce unsupported activities, while “Next level” is not a precise way to refer to an age band. Spelling errors such as “tabel,” “Europen,” “thime,” and “entrtainment” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for describing data, using expressions such as “recorded,” “the highest figure,” “declined,” and “a similar amount.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to report figures in several sentence forms, but grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “In this tabel we comes to know” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “There are 8 males and 6 female those spend there average hours” contains problems with number, relative-clause structure, and pronoun use. Many sentences are fragments, including “On the other handes the people at the age of 26 to 30 years.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, with several ideas joined without spaces or clear stops. Practise complete, direct sentences with accurate agreement and articles, such as “Males aged 26–30 spent an average of four hours online.”
