Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the broad pattern that the 16–20 group spends the most time online and people aged 51+ the least, which gives the response a relevant overview. However, the report only partially covers the table: it does not clearly compare all age groups or consistently report the figures. For example, the 26–30 group is described as spending the “same time” online, although the table shows four hours for both sexes; the 31–50 group is said to spend the same time as that group, but its figures are three hours for males and four for females. The 11–15 figures are also presented unclearly. Select the key highs and lows, then report accurate male–female comparisons and the overall decline after ages 16–20.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure, moving from an introduction to details and then an overall statement. The sequence from younger people to older groups is also a useful organising idea. However, progression is not consistently clear: the overview appears at the end, while the earlier paragraphs mix comparisons and general comments. Phrases such as “Further” and “At last” signal stages, but do not always make the relationship between the information clear. Some references are difficult to follow, particularly “Those people who between age group in 31-50 spent same time whoes group between 26-30.” Put the overview near the beginning, group the figures into clear comparisons, and use linking phrases only where they accurately show contrast or sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use several relevant terms, including “average hours,” “age groups,” and “digital platform,” and you attempt to vary the wording for internet use. However, the vocabulary is limited in precision and some choices make the report less clear. “Social media” is not what the table measures, and “childhood time” and “senior citizens” are not suitable labels for these age bands. Repeated alternatives such as “web,” “world wide web,” “net,” and “cyberspace” do not add useful precision. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “nany,” “Mens,” and “whoes.” Prefer straightforward, accurate terms such as “internet use,” “males,” “females,” and “hours per week” only if the table specifies that period.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer constructions, but the range is limited and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “it can be seen clearly that how nany males and females spent time on internet” has an incorrect clause structure, while “Those people who between age group in 31-50 spent same time” is missing necessary grammatical elements. Agreement and sentence construction are also problematic in “the most of the people who spend time on web is teenagers.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, as seen in the lowercase sentence openings and spaces before commas. Build clear sentences around a subject and verb, for example, “Males aged 16–20 spent 19 hours online, compared with 18 hours for females,” and check articles, agreement, and punctuation.
