Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response makes a relevant attempt to identify a key feature: men aged 16–20 recorded the highest Internet use, at 19 hours, compared with 18 for women. However, it gives no other figures or comparisons and does not provide a clear overview of the pattern across age groups. The claim that the survey concerned “britist people” is unsupported; the task refers to European people. The response is also substantially below the required 150 words, leaving the task only minimally addressed. To improve, report the peak for both sexes, describe the general decline with age, and compare the smaller differences in the older groups, using accurate data from the table.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to introduce the table with “According to the table,” followed by a comparison between men and women in the 16–20 age group. This gives the response a simple starting point, but the ideas are not developed or arranged into a clear summary. The phrase “As my assumption in this” does not establish a logical link, and there is no overview or progression through the age groups. The response also consists of one short block, with no paragraphing to distinguish an introduction, overview and supporting details. Organise the report into these stages and use clear links such as “By contrast” or “In the older groups” to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses a few task-related terms, including “table,” “survey,” “ages” and “consuming,” and the intended comparison between male and female Internet use can be inferred. However, vocabulary is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “descriptive approach of summarized survey” does not clearly describe the table, while “more consuming with regards of internet” is an awkward way to report hours spent online. There are also spelling and form problems, including “britist” and “nternet.” Use precise report language such as “average hours spent online,” “recorded,” and “higher than,” and check spelling and word forms before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts a complex opening clause, but the sentence structure is not controlled: “it was a descriptive approach of summarized survey conducted through different ages” does not form a clear grammatical description. The second sentence, “man ages between 19 to 20 is more consuming,” has problems with number agreement and sentence construction, making the comparison difficult to follow. The response shows little variety beyond these two sentence patterns, so it does not yet demonstrate a reliable range of structures. Practise accurate simple comparisons first—for example, “Men aged 16–20 spent 19 hours online, one hour more than women”—then add a clear overview sentence using a contrast or trend clause.
