Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify two relevant headline features: the 16–20 group has the highest figures for both sexes, and males aged 51+ have the lowest figure. These observations match the table. However, the response reports very little of the data: it omits most age groups and comparisons, including the equal figures for ages 26–30 and the small female advantage among people aged 31–50 and 51+. The overview is also incomplete, and the response is substantially below the required 150 words. To improve, provide a clear overview of the overall pattern, then select and compare several key figures accurately; describe the values as hours, not percentages.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic, recognisable structure: an opening sentence is followed by an overview beginning with “Overall,” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” This gives the reader some sense of how the information is organised. However, there is no developed progression from an overview to supporting comparisons, and the final point is not connected to a fuller account of the table. The linking phrases do not compensate for the limited organisation or missing detail. Build separate, purposeful paragraphs—for example, an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph comparing the age groups—and use clear references to connect the figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a few relevant terms, including “average hours,” “European individuals,” and “age groups,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the vocabulary range is limited, and several word choices or combinations are unnatural, such as “has been consume on internet” and “the highest who has been used the internet.” The use of “19%” and “2%” is also inaccurate because the table gives hours, not percentages. Choose precise reporting language and repeat key terms only when needed: for example, “spent online,” “recorded,” and “the highest average.” This would make the comparisons clearer and more appropriate for an academic data summary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both a simple opening statement and longer sentences describing the highest and lowest figures, but the range of structures is very limited and errors are frequent. In “The table provides information regarding the average hours has been consume,” the clause lacks a grammatical subject for “has been consumed,” and the verb form is incorrect. In “the male of age between 16 to 20 are the highest,” the subject and verb do not agree, and the comparison is not formed clearly. The sentence about females also has an unclear clause structure. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled comparisons, such as “Males aged 16–20 spent an average of 19 hours online.”
