Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You provide a clear overview of the main patterns: the 16–20 group records the highest figures for both sexes, while the 51+ group records the lowest, and you note that male figures are generally higher. The body also reports all six age groups accurately, including the equal values for ages 26–30 and the female advantage in the 31–50 and 51+ groups. This gives the response a well-supported account of the table. The statement that males spent the most time is a slight over-generalisation, since females exceed males in two groups and match them in one. For a more complete overview, qualify this as a general pattern and explicitly mention the exceptions.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, and two paragraphs grouping the age ranges. The sequence from younger to older groups is easy to follow, and phrases such as “In addition” and “Considering” help signal progression. This coherent arrangement is a strength. However, the repeated opening “Considering” makes the paragraph links somewhat mechanical, and the body reads mainly as a list of figures rather than a comparison of patterns. The reference in “female from same age group” is also slightly abrupt. Use more varied transitions and connect related figures directly—for example, contrast the peak at 16–20 with the subsequent decline across older groups.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use enough relevant vocabulary to describe the table, including “average,” “age group,” “highest,” “least,” and “compared to,” so the data remains understandable. There is some attempt at variation, such as “spent the highest number of hours” and “usually busy for 7 hours.” However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural for formal data reporting: people are not usually described as “busy for” a number of internet hours, and “on the technology” does not mean the same as “on the internet.” Repetition of “spent” and “on the internet” also limits flexibility. Choose precise reporting collocations such as “recorded,” “averaged,” and “time online,” while retaining clear, straightforward wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple statements and longer comparative clauses, and most sentences communicate the figures clearly. The overview and several comparisons are structurally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with agreement and sentence construction: “male spent” and “male … were” do not consistently match the singular or plural subject, while “16-20 aged people” uses an awkward noun phrase. Articles and prepositions are also sometimes missing, as in “on internet” and “from same age group.” The final sentence, “The least hours were spend,” has an incorrect verb form. Review subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms, and article use, and vary sentence patterns while keeping the comparisons accurate.
