Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the broad pattern that internet use is highest among younger people and lower among older groups, and you note that males generally record higher figures. These are relevant features. However, the account is only partly accurate: females exceed males in the 31–50 and 51+ groups, while both sexes are equal at ages 26–30, so “male … higher than female at every stage” is incorrect. The peak is correctly associated with ages 16–20, but the response does not report the table’s figures or make clear comparisons between the groups. It also describes internet use as time on “social media apps,” which the table does not specify. A more precise overview and selected numerical comparisons would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: it introduces the table, gives general observations, and then discusses age groups and gender. Linking expressions such as “however” and “furthermore” show an attempt to connect ideas. Nevertheless, the progression is not consistently clear: several points are repeated, including that older people spend less time online and that males spend more time than females. The response is also presented as one continuous block, and transitions such as “the first one” do not clearly guide the reader through the data. Organise the summary into a short introduction and overview followed by a paragraph comparing the main age groups, using references and linking words only where they clarify relationships.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “age groups,” “average rate,” and “digital platform,” and the general meaning is usually understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a table. “Contribution on social media apps” does not describe the figures, which show average internet hours, and “capacity to stay connected” adds an unsupported explanation. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “europeon,” “represt,” “digial,” and “capicity,” which reduce clarity. Choose precise, neutral terms for the data and check spelling carefully. For example, describe people as “spending” or “using” a number of hours online rather than making claims about their ability or social-media habits.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a time clause in “when the age increase with the passage of time,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur repeatedly: “This table represent,” “the age increase,” and “the male spends” do not match their subjects or the intended general meaning. Articles and sentence boundaries are also problematic, as in “the first one is range 11 to 15” and “adults.however,” where punctuation is missing. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate present-simple descriptions of data, subject–verb agreement, and sentence punctuation; then use a few controlled complex sentences to compare age groups.
