Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main peak accurately: people aged 16–20 record the highest figures for both men and women, and those aged 51+ record the lowest. You also note that the 26–30 group has equal figures. However, the response only partially summarises the table: it gives no numerical values and overlooks useful comparisons, such as the male advantage among younger groups and the female advantage in the 31–50 and 51+ groups. Calling 26–30 “average” is not clearly supported by the data. The response is also below the required 150 words, which limits the detail available. Include a concise overview and support key comparisons with accurate figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has some basic organisation: it introduces the table, identifies several key points, and ends with a concluding sentence. However, there is no clear overall progression from an overview to organised comparisons, and the final sentence largely repeats the earlier statements. Linking is limited to phrases such as “From the table” and “If we conclude it,” with the latter not functioning naturally as a summary signal. The ideas would be easier to follow if grouped into an introduction and overview, followed by comparisons between age groups and genders. Use clear references and avoid repeating the same peak and lowest points without adding information.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “average hours,” “age groups,” “male and female,” and “maximum time,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Highest percentage” is unsuitable because the table reports hours, not percentages; “spend most of his time” is also awkward and uses an unclear pronoun for both genders. The repeated phrase “time on internet” could be replaced with more precise language about hours of Internet use. Check spelling as well: “perons” should be “persons,” although “people” would sound more natural here.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences use simple patterns, and the reader can usually identify the intended comparisons. However, the range is limited, and frequent errors affect accuracy. For example, “The both genders … spends” has incorrect article use and subject–verb agreement; “male and female … spends” repeats the agreement problem. “The highest percentage of men and women who spend most of his time” contains an unclear relative clause and pronoun agreement, while “age of over fifty one” is not a well-formed age phrase. Capitalisation is also inconsistent in “From the table, The highest…”. Practise accurate plural subjects and verb forms, and use varied but controlled comparison structures.
