Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main peak correctly: the 16–20 group records the highest Internet use for both males and females, and you include several accurate comparisons, such as 7 versus 5 hours for ages 21–25 and equal figures of 4 for ages 26–30. However, the response only partly fulfils the task. It lacks a clear, well-developed overview of the overall pattern, and the final claim that the “major population” is affected is not supported by a table of average hours. The figures for the oldest groups are also described unclearly. The response is 124 words, below the required 150, so it has limited scope to select and explain the key features. Add a concise overview and develop the comparisons with accurate units and clearer wording.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the response moves from the highest-use age group to younger and older groups, and linking expressions such as “After that,” “Further,” and “While” show an attempt to connect information. However, the progression is not consistently clear. The opening includes a sentence fragment beginning “And age group,” while the final sentence shifts to an unsupported comment about the population rather than completing the data summary. Several comparisons are crowded into one sentence, particularly the figures for ages 31–50 and 50+, making the relationships harder to follow. Use a clear overview followed by logically grouped comparisons, and make each sentence express one complete, connected point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing data, including “categories,” “age group,” and “identified,” and the reader can generally recognise the intended comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spelling errors make the report less clear: “avegage,” “europen,” “highlest,” and “popolution” are noticeable, while “affected” does not accurately describe average Internet hours. Phrases such as “is extending by one number” and “spending time on the internet” are also awkward or imprecise for this task. Build a small set of accurate reporting expressions, such as “recorded,” “stood at,” and “was higher than,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer structures, including “While Female group is extending…” and “Since as per the table…,” but these are often faulty, and the overall range of sentence forms is limited. The opening “And age group of 16-20…” is not a complete sentence, and “Age group of 21-25 for male is been identified as 7” has an incorrect verb construction. Articles and sentence structure are also problematic in “While Female group,” and the final sentence beginning “Since” is an incomplete or poorly connected clause. These errors sometimes make the intended relationships difficult to understand. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences and use straightforward comparative structures, such as “Males recorded 7 hours, compared with 5 for females.”
