The table comapres the average hours spent on the internet by European male and female of different age groups.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main pattern accurately: the 16–20 group has the highest figures for both sexes, while 51+ is lowest. Several reported values also match the table, including males aged 11–15 (8 hours) and females aged 16–20 (18 hours). However, the coverage is incomplete: the response omits the female figure for 51+ (3 hours), and the overview does not mention that females exceed males in the 31–50 and 51+ groups, while the sexes are equal at 26–30. The phrase “smallest ratio” is also unclear because the table reports hours, not ratios. To strengthen the report, summarise these comparisons and include the omitted figures, rather than leaving the final age group unreported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction and overview are followed by separate paragraphs for male and female figures. This makes the information easy to locate, and signposts such as “Overall” and “Turning at female category” help indicate the direction of the report. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, with repeated openings such as “age group of” and repeated use of “stood at.” The female paragraph also ends without reporting the 51+ figure, so its coverage feels unfinished. Use more varied comparisons to connect related data—for example, contrast the sexes within the older groups—and ensure each paragraph accounts for the full range of relevant categories.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “average hours,” “largest consumption,” and “highest amount of time,” so the main information is generally understandable. However, some choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a table. “Smallest ratio” does not fit data measured in hours, and “largest consumption of hours” is an awkward collocation. There is also a spelling error in “comapres,” while repeated phrases such as “spent on internet” limit variety. Aim for precise language that describes figures and time use naturally, and check spelling before submitting. More accurate collocations would make the comparisons clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You produce several understandable simple and compound sentences, and the overall meaning is usually clear. There are some errors in sentence construction and grammatical control, however. In “The figure for teenagers (11-15) spent average 8 hours,” the figure is incorrectly made the subject of “spent”; a clearer structure would be “Teenagers aged 11–15 spent an average of 8 hours.” The overview also shifts from “demonstrates” to “showed,” creating inconsistent tense, and “the age group of 26-30 and 31-50 stood” has a singular verb with a compound subject. Articles and prepositions are also sometimes missing, as in “on internet.” Use consistent past tense, check subject–verb agreement, and vary sentence structures while keeping them accurate.
