Student answer (Band 5.5)
The table illustrates information on average time spent on internet by various age groups in a chart of categories of age in both gender female and male.
Overall mostly the time spent on internet is by teenager to teens with significantly so much higher figures than any other age group and at the lowest are the oldest people who have seen it all and lived there life without the internet most amount of times. Also kids of small age uses internet quiet alot as my suprise beacuse i did not expected that much.
In starting there are kids age group with the age between 11-15 in male side the consumption of internet 8 hours, while female used internet for 6 hour a day two hour different as male have more addiction of internet at young age according to this chart. Now the shocking part comes as at the age group of 16-20 the consumption of internet increased significantly to 19 hours in male, while 18 hours in female a day which is acually shocking to see how much teens have internet addiction. After that 21-25 age group comes where male spent 7 hour and female spent 5 hour which is quiet basic. Then 26-30 age group came with spending same 4 hour a day in both genders. Then bottom two age groups are 31-50 and 51+ where we can see 3 hours spent by male and 4 hour by female on internet. Lastly oldest people where female spended more time than male on internet by female at 3 hours and male at 2 hours.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main pattern: internet use peaks among 16–20-year-olds and is lowest among people aged 51+, and you report the figures for all six age groups. Most comparisons are accurate, including the male–female differences in the youngest and oldest groups. However, the overview is weakened by unsupported commentary about older people having “lived there life without the internet” and by describing teenagers’ use as “addiction”; the table gives hours, not reasons or attitudes. The claim that younger children use the internet “quite a lot” could also be made more precise by comparing their figures with the peak group. Focus the overview on the clear rise to ages 16–20 and the subsequent decline, and keep interpretations grounded in the data.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and a body that moves through the age groups in order. This makes the data relatively easy to follow. However, the body reads as a sequence of repeated “Then” and “After that” statements, so the comparisons are sometimes mechanical rather than grouped by meaningful patterns. The overview also combines the main trend with personal commentary, which interrupts its focus. Improve progression by grouping the peak and the decline together, and by highlighting the small gender differences across the table rather than treating every row as a separate step. Use linking phrases selectively and make references such as “the bottom two age groups” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “age group,” “increased significantly,” “consumption” and “spent,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, the range and control are limited by repeated wording and several inaccurate or informal choices. “Addiction” is an unsupported and overly strong interpretation of hours spent online, while “quiet basic” and “shocking” are not suitable for a neutral report. There are also spelling errors such as “suprise,” “beacuse” and “acually,” and awkward phrases such as “in a chart of categories of age.” Aim for precise, neutral language and vary reporting verbs without forcing uncommon vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the age-by-age comparisons are usually understandable. However, some sentence structures are faulty or incomplete, as in “in the male side the consumption of internet 8 hours,” where a clear subject and verb are missing. Agreement and verb forms also need attention: “kids … uses,” “female spended,” and “male spent 7 hour” are examples. Articles and plural forms are inconsistent, and several long sentences joined with “while” or “where” would be clearer if divided or punctuated more carefully. Practise building accurate comparison sentences, for example, “Males spent eight hours online, compared with six hours for females.”
