Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main peak accurately: the 16–20 group records the highest figures for both sexes, and you note that usage is lower among older people. You also report several figures from the table. However, the response only partially covers the data: it stops partway through the 26–30 group and omits the 31–50 and 51+ figures, as well as the equal values for men and women aged 26–30. Some figures are also described as percentages, although the table gives average hours. The overview is present but unclear, particularly “the new younger humans both was spent most time.” To improve, give a concise, accurate overview and compare the full age range, including the small differences between male and female figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and detail, and the age groups are generally discussed in a sensible order. However, progression is difficult to follow because several sentences are incomplete or awkwardly connected, such as “in the first number of time spending on internet is 16 to 20 age of people.” The final paragraph begins a comparison but ends after giving only the male figure for ages 26–30, leaving the information unfinished. Linking phrases such as “Overall,” “Regarding,” and “the other side” are used, but some are inaccurate or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. Use separate, complete paragraphs for the overview and comparisons, and connect the figures with clear contrasts such as “whereas” and “by comparison.”

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “average hours,” “age groups,” and “spending time on internet,” so the topic is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear: “the new younger humans,” “the first number,” and “the reports of European citizen” do not naturally describe the table. Repetition of “people,” “time,” and “internet” also limits precision. There are noticeable spelling errors, including “secound,” “internert,” “femel,” and “parcentage.” Choose standard data-reporting language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe groups as “the youngest age group” and figures as “hours per week” only if that time period is specified by the task.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt more than simple listing, including an overview and comparisons, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors occur frequently. Subject–verb agreement and verb forms are problematic in “the new younger humans both was spent most time” and “the oldest people male and female was spending less time.” Other sentences lack clear grammatical structure, as in “21 to 25 age of male and female identify using of the Net 7 % male while 5% female.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including the lowercase start “in the first number” and the run-on presentation of figures. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, for example, “Men aged 21–25 spent seven hours online, compared with five hours for women.”
