Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main pattern accurately: the 16–20 group records the highest figures for both sexes, at 19 hours for males and 18 for females, while the oldest group records the lowest. You also include several relevant comparisons, such as 11–15-year-olds and the lower figures among older adults. However, some details are incomplete or imprecise. The 21–25 group has 7 hours for males and 5 for females, and the 26–30 group has 4 for both; saying these groups “declined upto 4 hours in both gender” blurs that distinction. The 31–50 figures (3 and 4) are omitted. A clearer overview and more precise reporting of the middle age groups would make the summary more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs describing younger and older groups. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within the body is sometimes difficult to follow because several comparisons are repeated, especially the peak figures for ages 16–20. Linking expressions such as “looking first,” “later,” and “among the old age groups” help signal movement, but some are awkwardly attached to incomplete or unclear sentences. For example, “later age groups from 21-25 and 26-30 were declined” does not clearly distinguish the two groups. Organise the figures in a consistent age sequence and use concise comparisons to reduce repetition and improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “average hours,” “age groups,” “highest,” and “comparing,” so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “spent on the internet” and “age group.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “using internet more upto 19 hours,” “were declined,” and “spent very less time.” Spelling errors, including “espically,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise reporting verbs and comparison language, while checking spelling and natural combinations of words. This would make the description clearer and more appropriate for an academic summary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with comparisons, and the reader can usually understand the intended figures. However, sentence structures are often faulty, particularly when clauses are joined: “this age group people are spent more hours” and “comparing to the male the female is spent more hours” contain problems with verb forms and sentence construction. There are also issues with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in the lowercase sentence opening “where the age groups…” and the run-on phrasing around the 21–25 and 26–30 groups. Use a reliable pattern such as “Males aged 16–20 spent 19 hours on average, compared with 18 hours for females.” Building accurate sentences of this kind will improve control while retaining comparisons.
