Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main pattern accurately: the 16–20 group records the highest figures for both sexes, while the 51+ group records the lowest. You also report the values for each age band correctly, including the equal figures of four hours at ages 26–30. This gives the response relevant coverage of the table. However, the overview is imprecise: “There is not much difference” does not distinguish the small gender gaps in most groups from the larger two-hour gap at ages 11–15 and 21–25. Some comparisons are also underdeveloped; for example, you could clearly state that males record higher use in the younger groups, while females are higher in the two oldest groups. A more precise overview and clearer synthesis would strengthen the report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and two paragraphs presenting the figures. The age groups are generally reported in a sensible order, and transitions such as “Furthermore” help signal a shift to the older groups. However, progression is sometimes weakened by abrupt or unclear links. “Over the age of 16-20” is difficult to interpret, and the paragraph moves from the 16–20 figures to 21–25 without a clear comparison. Some linking is mechanical, while missing spaces after full stops make the text harder to follow. Grouping the younger ages together and then the older ages, with explicit comparisons between male and female figures, would create a clearer progression and more effective cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the subject, including “age group,” “genders,” “spend time” and “hours.” There are also attempts to vary expression, such as “consume” and “spending time.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing a table: “most consuming internet age group,” “less watching hours” and “watching hours of Internet” do not express internet use naturally. “Teenage” and “male child” are also unsuitable labels for the age categories, and “women” is inconsistent with the table’s gender labels. These choices sometimes make the meaning less clear, although the figures remain understandable. Prefer precise, repeated task vocabulary such as “internet use,” “hours spent online,” “males” and “females,” and check collocations before using less familiar alternatives.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer structures, including “Furthermore Male consume less internet in his further age then female,” so there is some variety in sentence form. However, errors in sentence construction and control are frequent enough to make several sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “the European people of different age group spend average time” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “male child spend” has subject–verb disagreement. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “at the age of 26-30” and “in there 21-25 age.” Punctuation and spacing need attention: several sentences run together, and commas are used where a full stop or a clearer clause structure is needed. Practise accurate comparative sentences and check agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
