Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main pattern accurately: both sexes reach their highest Internet use at ages 16–20 (19 hours for males and 18 for females), while the 51+ group records the lowest figures. You also include several comparisons across the other age bands, so the response addresses the task and its key features. However, some details are less fully or clearly reported: “21-15” is an incorrect age range (the table shows 21–25), and the overview could better summarise the broader pattern of a sharp peak at 16–20 followed by generally lower figures in older groups. The comparison of the 31–50 and 51+ figures is also not developed. More precise selection and reporting would make the summary clearer and more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, an overview and a paragraph giving further age-group details. The reader can generally follow the progression from the highest and lowest figures to the remaining groups. However, connections between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “Although” begins a sentence without a contrasting clause, and “Instead of this” does not express the intended comparison. The repeated use of “Additionally,” “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “In addition to this” makes the linking feel formulaic rather than natural. Grouping the figures into a clear comparison of younger groups and older groups, and using fewer, more precise transitions, would improve progression and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of vocabulary related to the task, including “average hours,” “age group” and “spent,” and the main comparisons remain understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “hours … are observerd,” “Male aquires 19 hours,” “female obtains 18 hours,” and “hours spent by females of internet are leveled off.” These choices sometimes make the meaning harder to process, while “observerd” also shows a spelling error. Prefer direct, conventional reporting language such as “recorded,” “spent,” “stood at” and “remained the same.” Greater accuracy with these common data-description expressions would make your vocabulary more effective and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “Although” and “whereas,” and the main figures can usually be understood. However, some sentence structures are faulty or incomplete. “Although, highest number …” lacks a complete grammatical construction, while “Instead of this, 7 hours … spent” has an unclear opening and omits the auxiliary verb. There are also problems with articles and prepositions, as in “on internet” and “in age of 51+,” and the final sentence joins contrasting ideas awkwardly with “nevertheless.” Work on complete clause structure, article use and sentence boundaries; these corrections would make your comparisons easier to read while preserving your attempts at complex forms.
