Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main pattern: the 16–20 group records the highest figures, while the 51+ group has the lowest, and you report several male–female comparisons accurately. However, coverage is partial: the 26–30 figures are omitted, and the 31–50 figures are incorrectly described as 3 hours for males and 4 for females under “young people,” rather than clearly identifying that age group. The overview is also broad and does not summarise the general decline after ages 16–20. The response is 141 words, so it does not meet the 150-word minimum. To strengthen the report, include all age bands accurately and give a concise overview of the peak, the subsequent decline, and the small gender differences.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, an overview, and body paragraphs introduced by “First and foremost” and “In addition.” This helps the reader follow the general movement from younger to older groups. However, the progression is not consistently clear: the 21–25 figures are placed in a sentence about “adults,” while the next sentence gives the 31–50 figures but calls them “young people.” The final sentence then returns to the 51+ group. Some linking phrases feel mechanical, and punctuation spacing makes sentence boundaries harder to see. Grouping the age bands in order and using clear references such as “For those aged 21–25” would make the organisation more coherent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing the table, including “age groups,” “usage,” “teenagers,” and “average.” The meaning is generally understandable, but the range is limited and several expressions are unnatural or imprecise, such as “the table chart demonstrates,” “least usage … was accounted by,” and “3 hours contributed by male.” Spelling and capitalisation also need attention, including “avearge,” “european,” and inconsistent use of “Female.” These issues make the report less fluent and occasionally obscure the intended comparison. Choose direct reporting language and accurate collocations, for example, “the table shows,” “spent online,” and “the lowest figure was recorded among people aged 51 and over.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer constructions, but sentence control is uneven, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “children who belongs from 11 to 15 age group” has problems with agreement and sentence structure, while “citizens who were adults 7 hours were spent” lacks a clear grammatical relationship between the group and the figure. Several sentences also run together because full stops are followed immediately by the next sentence, as in “groups. The” and “female.citizens.” Use straightforward patterns such as “Males aged 11–15 spent an average of eight hours online” and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation. More accurate sentence construction would make your comparisons easier to understand.
