Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the main peak accurately: males aged 16–20 spend 19 hours online and females 18, and you note that the 51+ group records the lowest figures. However, the report is very incomplete: it omits several important comparisons, including the 11–15 and 21–25 groups, and does not clearly describe the overall pattern across age groups. The statement that 51+ has the lowest time is broadly correct, but the table gives specific figures of 2 hours for males and 3 for females. The response is 86 words, below the required 150, which contributes to the limited coverage. Add a fuller overview and report the key figures and gender differences across the table.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening sentence is followed by an overview beginning “Overall,” and then a further detail introduced by “Furthermore.” This gives the reader some sense of the report’s parts. However, the progression is limited, with only a few selected data points and no systematic movement through the age groups. The opening is also joined awkwardly to “including male and female,” and the final details do not develop the overview. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs and group the age bands in a clear sequence, supported by accurate linking phrases. This would make the comparisons easier to follow rather than relying on a small set of connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, including “average hours,” “age groups,” and “use the Internet,” so the basic subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce clarity: “Internt,” “Iternet,” “spended,” and “attribuated.” Phrases such as “the most groupe who spend long hours” and “the lowest time … is attributed to” are also unnatural for describing table data. Aim for concise, accurate reporting language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe a group as “recording the highest average” or “spending the fewest hours,” rather than using awkward constructions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few sentence forms, including an overview with “However” and a comparison beginning “Furthermore,” but the range remains limited and errors occur frequently. The opening has a sentence-boundary problem: “different age groups. including male and female” leaves a fragment after the full stop. Subject–verb agreement is incorrect in “The table demonstrate,” and the construction “people aged from 16 to 20 are considered the most groupe” is grammatically awkward. There are also inconsistent spaces and punctuation. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related comparisons with controlled clauses. For instance, use a complete opening sentence and ensure singular subjects take singular verbs.
