Student answer (Band 5.5)
the table shows the the information about average hours spent on internet by the European people from 11 yers old to avobe 51 years old with seperate data of male and female.
overall, younger people spent much more time on internet compares to the older peoples.
Age between 16-20 years people are spending highest time on internet and the age between 21-25 are the second higest in the spending time on internet.and the tredt is going down as the age is increasing. and older people who are above 51 years old are spending lowest time on internet compare to others.
the trend of spending time on internet is decresing by the people's age and we are also seeing that male are spending little bit more time on internet compare to the female. also the tredent do not applicable to the people who are from 11-15 years old, since they are child and spending less time on internet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the task partially and attempts to cover the main features of the table, such as the highest figures in the 16-20 age group and the general downward trend with increasing age. However, some parts of the data are not fully or accurately reported, and certain interpretations lack precision. For instance, stating that the trend does not apply to the 11-15 age group because 'they are child' misinterprets the data pattern, as the table simply shows lower figures for that group compared to teenagers. The overall summary is basic and limited in its development of comparisons between male and female figures, pointing only vaguely to slight differences. To reach a higher level, the response would need to select and contrast key data points more accurately and provide a fully developed overview without inaccurate generalisations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
There is a general attempt at organisation with an overall statement and body sentences, but the progression lacks clear structure and logical flow. The text relies heavily on basic cohesive devices and repetitive phrasing, such as 'spending time on internet' and 'compare to', which makes the cohesion mechanical and occasionally repetitive. Paragraphing is underutilised, as the entire body of the report is clumped together into one continuous block of text rather than being logically divided into distinct thematic paragraphs. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the lack of varied linking words restricts the overall readability. Improving organisation requires grouping related data clearly into separate paragraphs and using a wider, more varied range of cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the comparisons.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, though it is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic of internet usage across age groups. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'avobe', 'tredt', 'higest', 'tredent', and 'decresing', which stem from spelling mistakes and inaccurate word forms. The student attempts less common vocabulary like 'trend' and 'decreasing' but makes frequent slips that draw attention. To achieve a higher score, the response needs to demonstrate a wider and more precise range of vocabulary, avoiding repetition of basic phrases like 'spending time on internet' and ensuring correct spelling and word formation throughout the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical structures used are relatively simple and repetitive, consisting mostly of basic subject-verb constructions. When the student attempts more complex sentence forms, they are frequently faulty, leading to errors in articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'the European people', 'yers old', and 'male are spending little bit more time'. Punctuation is also weak, with missing capitalisation at the start of sentences and after full stops, alongside run-on clauses. There are frequent errors that cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to incorporate a wider variety of accurate complex sentence structures and exercise better control over basic grammatical rules and punctuation.
