Student answer (Band 4.5)

It is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money depends upon a persons situation.

According to my percpective we should not leave the hope and try to tackle the situation and fight with the situation and work hard to progress. We should not leave the situation in between and try to expand business. In one situation you can leave the job if your manager is strict with you and gives you less salary you leave the job if you are not satisfied with your manager. you can find another job if it is better job then you should try to improve yourselve work overtime get promotion. you can have experience and can have your own business.

In conclusion, you should not accept bad situation and try to find new job and not to accept the torture even if you have shortage of money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a clear general opinion that people should try to improve difficult circumstances, and the example about leaving an unsatisfactory job and seeking promotion or starting a business is relevant. However, the response does not adequately discuss both views: accepting a bad situation is mentioned only briefly, and there is little explanation of why someone might choose acceptance. Your ideas about changing jobs and working overtime are also asserted rather than developed with reasons or a specific example. The response contains 132 words, which is 118 words below the required minimum; 17 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. This leaves the task only minimally addressed. To improve, explain the benefits and drawbacks of both choices, support each with an example, and state your position more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic overall direction: you state your view, give a job-related example, and finish with a conclusion. However, the response is not divided into clear paragraphs, and the ideas within the main section run together. The repeated use of “and” in “tackle the situation and fight with the situation and work hard” makes the progression difficult to follow, while the shift from leaving a job to working overtime and then starting a business is not clearly explained. The conclusion repeats the main opinion but does not draw together a discussion of both views. Use separate paragraphs for each viewpoint and your opinion, and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general topic, with relevant terms such as “unsatisfactory job,” “salary,” “promotion,” and “shortage of money.” You also attempt phrases such as “tackle the situation” and “expand business.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, including repeated use of “situation” and “leave the situation in between.” Some word forms and spelling are inaccurate, as in “percpective” and “yourselve,” and “expand business” needs a more natural form. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main point, but they reduce precision. Build a wider set of expressions for accepting circumstances, seeking change, and improving financial or employment prospects.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but the range is limited and control is inconsistent. The opening sentence, “It is best to accept a bad situation … depends upon a persons situation,” combines structures without forming a clear grammatical sentence. In “you leave the job if you are not satisfied with your manager,” the conditional relationship and punctuation need clearer control, and several ideas are joined into run-on sentences. There are also errors with possessives, articles, and sentence boundaries. These problems sometimes make the relationships between ideas unclear, although the overall message can usually be understood. Practise writing complete sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses accurately; check punctuation and agreement before submitting.
