Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think that it is best to accept staying in a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or a shortage of money. While others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. I strongly agree with the second statement because we have only one life so we need to move on rather than taking more stress for not achieving any thing.

Therefore, when we start failing again and again in any task we think that we are able to complete it which is our big problem. We first think about a future what will happen after that. For instance, when a student fails in any subject in which he/she thinks they are able to pass it in a short time period. God made us equally no one has an extra ability. All humans are the same but we need to express it to other people that we also have that type of ability. Moreover, we do not need to waste our time in an unsatisfactory Job which is giving us better feedback after working 24/7 for them.

Furthermore, some people take stress, anxiety or depression due to the shortage of money. Fewer years ago thousands of people died in taxes only because they focused on what they lost in the past. We need to live our life freely without tension. At the end we all need to leave the world someone die first and someone later so it is better to try again and improve your life style and make good future for the up coming generation.

In conclusion, people need to focus more on their Job either than thinking about their life. Parents also need to teach their children how to deal with problems and which types of difficulties they can face in their future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear preference for improving difficult circumstances: “I strongly agree with the second statement.” However, the response does not adequately discuss both views. Most of the essay argues for trying again, while the reasons someone might accept a bad situation are not explained. Several examples are also unclear or insufficiently relevant: the student who expects to pass is not clearly connected to accepting or improving a situation, and the reference to people dying “in taxes” is difficult to interpret. The conclusion introduces advice about parents and children rather than bringing the discussion together. To strengthen the response, explain why acceptance may sometimes be sensible, develop your own position with a clear example, and ensure each paragraph directly answers the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an identifiable introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” show an attempt to organise ideas. However, progression is difficult to follow because several points are loosely connected or shift direction. For example, the paragraph about failure moves from a student’s expectations to human equality and then to an unsatisfactory job without explaining the links. The paragraph about money also moves from stress to deaths and then to future generations. Some references, including “after that” and “they,” are unclear. Plan each paragraph around one main point, explain how each example supports it, and use transitions to show relationships rather than simply mark a new point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the general topic, including terms such as “unsatisfactory job,” “shortage of money,” “stress,” “anxiety” and “depression.” There are also attempts at more expressive phrasing, such as “move on” and “live our life freely.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations make meaning unclear. “Died in taxes” does not convey a clear idea, while “giving us better feedback” seems unsuitable for describing a job that is unsatisfactory. Phrases such as “any thing,” “life style” and “up coming” also show spelling or word-form problems. Aim for precise, natural expressions—for example, describe financial hardship as “struggling to meet basic expenses”—and check common collocations and spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “when we start failing again and again … we think,” and a reason clause with “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. The opening uses a sentence fragment beginning “While others argue,” and “we think that we are able to complete it which is our big problem” has an unclear clause connection. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence construction, as in “a future what will happen” and “someone die first and someone later.” Work on forming complete sentences, using relative clauses accurately, and checking subject–verb agreement and articles. Clearer sentence boundaries would make your ideas easier to follow.
