Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. While other people argue that it is better to try and improve such challenging situations. I believe it is better to improve such situations.
Some people accept a bad situation like an unsatisfactory job. The reason people accept to remain in such kind of jobs is that they get trapped in such jobs as they spent more and more time in such jobs it becomes difficult to switch to a satisfying job as the consistent crediting of a salary keeps care of their expenses which they just cannot ingnore for even a month. Due to lack of savings too they become trapped in such jobs and are forced to do such job even it is very unsatisfying.
I believe people should try and improve such situation like for an unsatisfying job with less salary, people should try and work on themselves part time and polish their skills further and further to keep themselves available for future jobs which are constantly increasing selection criteria with the technological advancements. People should get out of the salary trap and take risk as taking risks earlier in life has proved to be very successfull decisions for many successfull entrepreneurs. Many famous people like people specially who belong from artistic careers like in Pakistan Tabish Hashmi, and many otherr actors first did their education in engineering and did jobs too but those jobs were unsatisfying for them so they explored their abilities in arts sector and are very successfull today.
In conclusion, not fighting against tough situations can be due to the system trap many people get into but those who take risks and fight against such traps become successfull or at least explore their true potential.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the 'salary trap' and the need for skill development, the explanation remains repetitive, particularly regarding the reasons why people stay in unsatisfactory jobs. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the consequences of these choices or provide more nuanced analysis of why some might argue that accepting a situation is a pragmatic, rather than negative, choice. The example of Tabish Hashmi is relevant, but the explanation of how it supports your argument could be more explicitly linked to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'such jobs', 'such situations'). The transition between the second and third paragraphs is abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, which makes the flow feel a bit disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to convey your meaning, but it is often repetitive. Phrases like 'unsatisfactory job' and 'such situations' are used frequently, which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also some minor errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'successfull decisions' (successful) and 'belong from' (belong to). To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations related to career development and financial stability to demonstrate a wider lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'While other people argue that it is better to try and improve such challenging situations' is a dependent clause standing alone). Punctuation is also inconsistent. To achieve a higher band, focus on reducing these frequent errors and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately.
