Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, which severely limits the development of ideas. While you have attempted to address both sides of the argument, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. Because the response is unfinished and fails to present a clear opinion or a conclusion, it does not fully address the task requirements. To improve, you must ensure you provide a full introduction, two balanced body paragraphs with clear examples, and a concluding summary that states your position clearly. Aim to expand your arguments with more detail to meet the minimum length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay uses basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'For instance', which helps to structure the initial thoughts. However, the lack of a complete structure and the abrupt ending make it difficult to assess the overall progression of ideas. Paragraphing is present, but the logical flow is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. To achieve a higher score, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that ideas are linked smoothly throughout the entire essay, leading to a coherent conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is quite limited and repetitive, relying on simple phrases like 'bad situations' and 'best thing'. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'to trying to changes that things' and 'not satisfy from this salary'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to employment and financial management. Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on correct collocations will help you convey your ideas more effectively and professionally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The grammar contains frequent errors that affect the readability of the text. Examples include 'other argue' (should be 'others argue'), 'have a opinion' (should be 'have an opinion'), and 'if he not find' (should be 'if he does not find'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and the proper construction of conditional sentences. Practicing more complex sentence structures will also help demonstrate a wider range of grammatical control.
