Student answer (Band 7.0)
Although many people believe that it best to accept a bad situation such as debt , dead end jobs and unpleasant job environment. I believe that one should learn from these bad situation and grow as a person.
On the one hand, people are often stuck in a situation where they are bleeding money, suffering from unemployment or facing a toxic environment at workplace and some argue that the best possible move in this situation is acceptance. Many people choose a secure job and stable income rather than taking a risk, which could be for many reason to name one would be looking after their family . Regardless of their happiness, people are at peace with limited income and underwhelming work life. This situation is common in middle class households and people do not want to jeopardize their current jobs cause of the potential risk and shortage of money.
On the other hand, people believe one should overcome such adversary that is a bad situation and always work on themselves to overcome such problems. Firstly, this allows a person to reflect upon themselves and learn from their mistakes, this opens a room for personal growth. Secondly, the responsibility and yearning gives a person an active mindset which helps them to chase towards their goal. Generally, the risk to reward ratio is admissible therefore, in the long haul taking a risk to start a business or go for higher salary job could help overcome financial issues. Dead end jobs and shortage of money is could lead to depression overcoming such issues would be better for long term health.
In conclusion, it is true to say that many people are facing such situation where they feel stuck and unhappy in life. In my opinion, one should always work towards their goals and not be scared to make mistakes rather learn from them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, though some points, such as the 'risk to reward ratio' or the link between dead-end jobs and depression, could be developed with more specific examples to reach a higher band. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To improve, ensure that the arguments are fully extended with concrete illustrations rather than just general statements, which would help in achieving a more comprehensive development of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two opposing views. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'Firstly', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the comma splice in the introduction ('...unpleasant job environment. I believe...'). Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common collocations like 'jeopardize their current jobs' and 'active mindset'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and phrasing, such as 'bleeding money' (which is informal) and 'overcome such adversary' (should be 'adversity'). Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'underwhelming work life' instead of 'underwhelming work environment'. Expanding the range of precise vocabulary and ensuring correct word forms would lead to a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('a toxic environment at workplace'), subject-verb agreement ('many reason'), and punctuation (comma splices). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'Dead end jobs and shortage of money is could lead to depression'. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with correct syntax and punctuation. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for moving into the 7.0 band.
