Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and often repetitive. For instance, the argument that accepting a bad situation leads to learning is mentioned but not clearly explained or supported with logical depth. The examples provided, such as students completing a bachelor's degree, are somewhat vague and do not fully illustrate the points being made. To reach a higher band, you should focus on providing more specific, well-developed examples and ensuring that each paragraph clearly supports your central thesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently interrupted by unclear phrasing and awkward transitions. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'For instance', they are often used mechanically or incorrectly, which makes the flow of ideas feel disjointed. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'at time they have focus', which makes it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each sentence flows naturally from the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'bad', 'good', and 'problem'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'leave out that problem' instead of 'overcome that problem' or 'relate their study' instead of 'related to their study'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the reliance on simple vocabulary restrict the range. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to express your ideas with greater accuracy and variety.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For example, 'Some people think facing problem related of unsatisfactory job' contains multiple errors in prepositions and articles. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, leading to confusion. While the meaning is usually understandable, the persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation impede the overall fluency of the text. Focusing on mastering simple, error-free sentences before attempting more complex structures will help improve your accuracy.
