Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, although the position is somewhat obscured by unclear expression. The ideas are relevant but remain under-developed. For example, the argument for accepting a bad situation is vague, relying on general statements about 'upgraded technologies' and 'time delay' without clear logical links. Similarly, the counter-argument regarding searching for better opportunities lacks specific, well-supported examples. The conclusion is also quite weak, failing to clearly restate the position or summarize the main points effectively. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on one clear, well-explained idea supported by a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often difficult to follow due to awkward phrasing and limited use of cohesive devices. While transition words like 'On one side' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are often followed by sentences that lack logical flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between 'upgraded technologies' and the need to accept a bad job is not explicitly stated. The internal structure of the paragraphs is mechanical, and the lack of clear topic sentences makes it challenging for the reader to identify the main point of each section.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which occasionally impedes communication. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'eassy', 'situtaions', 'compitation', 'experiance', 'oppournites', 'sucess') and word choice issues (e.g., 'strengthen situation' instead of 'improve the situation', 'luxury life' instead of 'a comfortable lifestyle'). The range of vocabulary is basic and repetitive, failing to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and practice using collocations appropriate for formal writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies on a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence fragments (e.g., 'The two reasons are their are several new oppournites'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors is high and requires the reader to re-read sentences to grasp the intended meaning. Increasing the accuracy of basic sentence construction should be the primary focus for improvement.
