Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response is significantly under-length at only 106 words, failing to meet the 250-word minimum requirement. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. While the introduction attempts to outline the two views, the essay stops abruptly before developing the arguments or providing a clear, supported opinion. The ideas are severely underdeveloped, and the prompt's requirement to discuss both views and provide an opinion is not fulfilled due to the incomplete nature of the text. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you complete all parts of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to introduce the topic, the text ends mid-sentence, which prevents the development of a coherent argument. Cohesive devices are minimal, and the lack of structure makes it difficult to follow the intended flow of the essay. To achieve a higher score, you need to organize your response into clear paragraphs—an introduction, body paragraphs for each viewpoint, and a conclusion—using linking words to connect your ideas logically.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, such as 'stable source of income' and 'improve their standards of living'. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'except their fate' (should be 'accept') and 'work on less wages' (should be 'work for lower wages'). The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. To improve, focus on learning collocations and synonyms related to work and financial situations, and ensure you proofread for common spelling and word-choice errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text contains several grammatical errors that hinder clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('everyone need', 'other believes') and awkward phrasing ('Because a person has not the time to apply for jobs and seek through it'). The sentence structures are simple, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. The abrupt ending also leaves the final sentence incomplete. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and practice using a variety of complex sentence structures, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, while ensuring your grammar remains accurate.
