Student answer (Band 6.0)
Most people argue that it is best to accept a situation and move on with their lives whereas others try to improve such situations.
In my perspective, it is better that a person to work hard and try to improve such situations like unsatisfactory job and shortage of money. If we try a litter harder we can find the job we admire instead of settling for an unsatisfactory jo. If a person can work hard he can change his life rather than feeling devastated working for a job they do not admire. We cannot give our best if the job is unsatisfactory this leads to shortage of money. Whereas if we try a little harder we may find our dream job.
Meanwhile others argue that it is best to accept a bad situation I consider such people lazy as they do not try enough. If they work a little harder they might find a satisfactory job. Hence in my opinion it is considered significantly better to take a higher shot. An example that I experienced in my past was I got an underpaying and unsatisfactory job due to which I started giving interviews at multiple companies, I finally got selected at a good company which had better wages.
In conclusion, it is better to try and improve such situations rather than accepting it. With sheer determination and hard work a person can achieve greatest heights in their lives. Working for an unsatisfactory can be exhausting hence searching for a better job is considerably good.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument that people who accept bad situations are 'lazy' is a generalization that lacks nuance. While the prompt is addressed, the supporting arguments are quite simplistic and rely on circular reasoning (e.g., 'we cannot give our best if the job is unsatisfactory'). To reach a higher band, you should provide more varied and sophisticated reasons for why someone might choose to accept a situation, such as financial stability or family obligations, rather than simply labeling them as lazy.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, but the flow between sentences is often mechanical. You rely heavily on simple transition words like 'Meanwhile' and 'Hence,' which sometimes feel forced. The referencing is occasionally unclear; for example, in the second paragraph, the phrase 'such situations' is used repeatedly without sufficient variation. While there is a clear overall progression, the lack of sophisticated cohesive devices makes the writing feel somewhat disjointed. Improving the use of referencing and linking phrases would help the ideas flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use basic terms like 'bad situation,' 'work hard,' and 'good company' repeatedly. There are also minor errors in word choice, such as 'take a higher shot,' which is not a standard collocation. To improve, you should aim to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. For example, instead of 'unsatisfactory job,' you could use 'unfulfilling employment' or 'career stagnation.' The spelling is generally accurate, but the range of vocabulary is limited.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. For example, 'it is better that a person to work hard' is grammatically incorrect; it should be 'it is better for a person to work hard.' There are also issues with punctuation and article usage, such as 'try a litter harder' (typo) and 'working for a job' (preposition error). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. You need to focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of infinitives.
