Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the contradictory situation like few individuals believe that accepting their ups and downs is better. Whereas some people think that they have to put their efforts to improve their situation.
On the one hand, the viewpoint for accepting bad situation is that few people are afraid to face problem. This is due to fact that due to lack of confidence and self-esteem they get scared to handling the problem. By which they have to survive in that condition. Another reason behind this is carelessness. To elaborate, some people can handle the problem easily but due to the careless or lazy behavior they do not put any efforts to make their life easy. Therefore, lack of confidence and careless behavior is the fact by which people have to survive in their bad situation.
On the other hand, people try to put out themselves from difficult matters. The major reason behind this is the knowledge. To explore, the knowledge plays crucial role to making life easy and gives them potential and motivation to fight with their difficult time and get successful in their life. Second major reason is that self-confidence. To elaborate, self-confidence is a thing by which people can achieve anything in their life. It built the people independent and supports the individuals to achieving their goals in the life. It gives the positive thoughts to the people.
To conclude, the points are completely relevant with the situations. People who are with lack of confidence face bad time and always survive in it but people who has potential to fight with their ups and downs can achieve anything in their life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, though the development is somewhat limited. The ideas regarding why people accept bad situations—such as 'lack of confidence' or 'laziness'—are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples. The conclusion is brief and repeats the main points rather than synthesising them. To improve, ensure that your arguments are fully extended with concrete examples or logical consequences. The position is clear, but the depth of analysis is more characteristic of a Band 5.5 or 6.0 response, as the arguments remain somewhat superficial.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To explore' or 'To elaborate' used repeatedly. Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the points are completely relevant with the situations'. While the overall progression is logical, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of the transitions limit the score. Improving the variety of cohesive devices would significantly enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'bad situation', 'problem', and 'things'. Phrases such as 'put out themselves from difficult matters' are non-idiomatic and awkward. While the meaning is generally clear, there is little evidence of less common lexical items or collocations. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary, such as 'adversity', 'proactive', or 'resilience', and avoid repeating simple words throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'In the contradictory situation like few individuals believe' (incorrect preposition/structure) and 'It built the people independent' (incorrect verb tense/form). There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement, such as 'people who has potential'. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be beneficial.
