Student answer (Band 6.0)
The ongoing debate is whether the individuals should accept the harsh circumstances of life or they should keep struggling to a better situation. I believe that we should keep trying for the betterment of life like for good job opportunities and better life style but if we are not succeeding inspite of our hardwork then we should try to accept the realities.
Everybody has a dream to get a good job, successful career and luxury life style. In the modern era, the success is measured in terms of materials things like having a good bank balance, owing a new model car and buying a luxury house. This mind set has made the individuals depressed and stressful to earn more money. Whereas the competition has been increased everywhere for employment. Due to an increase in the quality of education and an accessible approach to the instituitions, the number of skilled and educated individuals have been increased marginally which increase competition among individuals.
The individuals who keep trying to get a good job, more incentives and better opportunities may get rewards for their hardwork and dedication. On the contrary, some people become satisfied without trying new routes to get out of the circumstances. As a result, they face financial issues after some years.
Meanwhile, some people cannot get a good opportunity inspite of their continual hardwork. It might be due to their bad luck. So, they should not become depressed and accept their fate.
In conclusion, with doing hardwork and true spirit the individuals can change their circumstances and can get better job or money whereas, luck is also an important factor. That is why I believe that everybody should work hard but if they cannot get success, they should become satisfied with what they have in their hands.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on why people should accept their fate is limited to a brief mention of 'bad luck' without exploring the psychological or practical benefits of acceptance in depth. The essay would benefit from more specific examples or a more nuanced exploration of the trade-offs between ambition and contentment. While the position is consistent, the supporting arguments lack the depth required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices such as 'On the contrary', 'Meanwhile', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise, such as the transition between the second and third paragraphs. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the progression of ideas could be smoother to ensure a more cohesive argument throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'marginally' and 'incentives', though these are sometimes used slightly inaccurately in context. Some phrasing is repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'individuals' and 'good job'. To improve, the writer should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of synonyms to avoid repetitive language and enhance the sophistication of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'the individuals should accept' (unnecessary article), 'inspite of' (should be two words: 'in spite of'), and 'with doing hardwork' (incorrect prepositional phrase). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band score.
