Student answer (Band 6.0)

In everyday life, individuals may encounter various challenging circumstances, including financial difficulties and dissatisfaction with their employment. some argue that it is best to be in toxic environment such as less salary package, unsatisfactory job and unrealistic employer expectations. others argued that is good to be in same situation and try to improve the circumstances. In this essay, I will discuss both views, and share my opinion.

One of the major reasons why individuals believe that they should adjust to a difficult situation is that they may consider it a temporary phase in life. Even highly experienced professionals when switch their job, they may fall into this situation, due to some family commitments and financial responsibilities, they may prefer to remain in an unsatisfactory position rather than take the risk of finding a new job. For example, an experienced software engineer who is dissatisfied with their current job, may remains to the same organization due to financial condition and family responsibilities. without securing a another good job if they leave the current one, it will cause financial difficulties for their family.

Hence, people usually prefer to stay in bad circumstances.

On Conversely, other people often debate that it is better to stay in unsatisfying job and try to improve the situations. By providing constructive feedbacks, improving work process in your field line, one can do this. Nevertheless, this approach is only possible when coworkers are supportive and cooperative. To exemplify this, an employee who is dissatisfied with the workload in a company can discuss the issue with their manager and suggest a more efficient way of distributing tasks. If their coworkers and management are supportive, these changes can improve the working environment and make the job more satisfactory.

To conclude this, In my opinion, a person who bear all toxicity for the sake of financial and family needs impacts their own mental and physical well-being. Therefore, I believe that individuals should try to improve their situation whenever possible rather than simply accepting it.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The first body paragraph provides a logical reason for accepting a bad situation (financial stability), but the second body paragraph is slightly confused; it starts by saying 'On Conversely' (a contradiction) and then argues for improving the situation, which is the second viewpoint. The ideas are relevant, but the explanation of 'improving' could be more nuanced. The position is clear, but the overall development is slightly limited by the lack of depth in the arguments provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'On Conversely' is an incorrect collocation, and the transition between the two viewpoints is somewhat abrupt. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the referencing is occasionally weak, such as the use of 'this' without a clear antecedent in some sentences. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints, which helps the reader follow the structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'toxic environment such as less salary package' and 'field line'. The student relies on basic vocabulary and occasionally struggles with collocations, such as 'bear all toxicity'. While the meaning is generally clear, the range of vocabulary is limited, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or sophisticated control. Spelling is generally accurate, but the word choices often feel repetitive or slightly unnatural in an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'some argue' (missing capitalization), 'when switch their job' (incorrect verb form), 'may remains to the same organization' (subject-verb agreement and preposition error), and 'a another' (article error). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. The student attempts complex structures, but they are often faulty, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score for accuracy.
