Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks to discuss both views and provide an opinion, the essay is underdeveloped. The arguments are superficial and do not fully address the core of the prompt regarding the choice between accepting a bad situation or actively improving it. The ideas are presented in a fragmented manner, and the conclusion does not clearly state a personal opinion on the dilemma posed. Because the response is under-length and lacks depth, it does not fully address all parts of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction is somewhat confusing, and the transition between the two main viewpoints is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'first of all' and 'on the other hand', but they are often used mechanically or incorrectly. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall flow of the argument is disjointed. The paragraphing is present but does not effectively support the development of the essay's structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'do any kind of work' and 'rule and regulations' are used repeatedly. There is a lack of variety in word choice, and the student struggles to express more complex ideas due to a restricted range of vocabulary. Some word choices are inaccurate, such as 'paragraphers' instead of 'paragraphs' and 'advance era' instead of 'modern era'. The vocabulary is sufficient for basic communication but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('its play very important role'), article usage ('the money'), and sentence structure. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band.
