Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many people believe that it is better to accept difficult situations, such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money, while others accept that it is better to try and improve these circumstances. Although accepting an unpleasant situation can sometimes be practical, I believe that making an effort to change the situation is generally the better approach.

On the other hand, accepting a bad situation can be beneficial in certain circumstances. Some problems are constantly worrying about them and may cause unnecessary stress. For example, who lost their job may need to accept their financial problems. They have thought they have no other option to do. For instance, some people try to find another job. In such a case, acceptance can help people remain calm and focus on managing their situation realistically.

On the other hand, trying to improve a difficult situation can lead to better long-term outcomes. If people simply accept the problem without action, they may stay in the same circumstances. For example, who fall in the ocean, he never accept than although he try to swimming. When we face any types of problem, we should find a solutions. These effort may be challenging at first but they can significantly improve a person quality of life in the future.

In my opinion, although accepting certain situation may be temporary nessary, But when try to improve bad situation it is great way to get future life.

In conclusion, accepting difficult circumstance can sometimes be the most realistic option, particularly when they cannot be changed immediately. How even try to improve situation is great way.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The paragraph regarding acceptance is confusing, particularly the example of someone losing their job, which lacks logical flow. The second body paragraph attempts to use an analogy about someone falling into the ocean, but the grammar is so fractured that the point is lost. While the task is addressed, the supporting arguments are often underdeveloped or unclear, preventing the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, ensure that each example directly supports the topic sentence and provides a logical explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or incorrect. For example, the use of 'On the other hand' to start both body paragraphs is repetitive and logically confusing, as the second paragraph does not contrast with the first in the way the transition suggests. Furthermore, referencing is frequently unclear, such as in the sentence 'For example, who fall in the ocean', where the subject is missing. The flow of ideas is often interrupted by these structural and grammatical issues, making the progression of the argument difficult to follow at times.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'situation', 'problem', and 'bad'. Some word choices are awkward or incorrect, such as 'temporary nessary' (temporary necessity) and 'great way to get future life'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of word-choice errors limit the score. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express complex ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('who lost their job', 'he never accept'), incorrect verb forms ('he try to swimming'), and punctuation errors (capitalising 'But' mid-sentence). The attempt at complex sentences is often undermined by these persistent errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb tenses is essential.
