Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people think that one should accept bad result like unsatisfactory job or money shortage while other believe that they must put an extra effort to improve the result. This essay will elucidates both plot with relevant example followed by my point view.

Some people think that , individual should accept worse situation because they believe that its a waste of time to put effort in improve the result so individual should accept it and should work more hard in it and make your position better then before for example many people accept their less income job work hard and get in to higher position with good income.

In contrast, many people believe that, individual should work hard and get into position they are willing to work or should make proper investment instead of accepting their current condition if they gets failed then they try again with more efforts and dedication for instance many successful people who are high position had face failure at certain point of point but their never giving up attitude is the only reasons of what they are today.

In my opinion, people should work hard for their goals and should never give because failure is part of the journey therefore they should learn for their mistake and carried out their work with more hard work and cosistancy

in conclusion some people argue one should accept current situation for them improving is waste of time while other oppose these prospective and said individual should make a try to improve their situation but from opinion should not accept their current situation and should make an effort to improve it

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that people should work hard to improve their situation, the arguments remain quite general and lack depth. For instance, the example about 'successful people' is vague and could be strengthened with more specific detail or a more nuanced explanation of why accepting a situation might be a valid strategy in certain contexts (e.g., mental health or temporary stability). To improve, ensure that each paragraph fully explores the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments rather than just stating them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or missing. Phrases like 'In contrast' and 'In conclusion' are used, but the internal flow within paragraphs is choppy. There are also issues with punctuation, such as the comma splice in the second paragraph ('Some people think that , individual should...'), which disrupts the logical progression. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on repetitive phrasing, such as 'work hard' and 'improve the result'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'elucidates both plot' (instead of 'discusses both perspectives') and 'prospective' (instead of 'perspective'). To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to career development and personal resilience, and focus on using words in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('individual should accept', 'many successful people... had face failure'), missing articles ('in to higher position'), and incorrect verb forms ('carried out their work with more hard work and cosistancy'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately.
