Student answer (Band 5.5)

some people say that it is best to live in verse situation like unsatisfactory work or small amount of money. Instead of this many citizens think that it is best to make these situations better.

Talking about view of such individuals who say that spent life in ad situations is good. They are people who live hand to mouth and they don't have enough money to fulfil their daily expenses. People like them don't care about sources of wealth. Citizens of first kind only focus to earn such amount of cash that will be sufficient for survival. Individuals of that kind don't live in comfort zone. For example, in Pakistan there is lot of youngers who has completed their degrees ,government has no jobs for them. A lot of youth are jobless due to it. Everyone wants to get job from government but other hand state have no work for all of them. All of these tried best to get employment in system of country but they fail. After that they have only chance to attain work in private sectors which pay very small for job. Then job less people which have no other source of income work for such companies.

In my opinion, people should not relay on unsatisfactory jobs but at other hand they also need to left their comfort zone. In this situation, complete expenses and wishes of worker depends on salary which is fixed. They manage their life according to pay which is not good. I just want to say that citizens should not relay on fixed salary, they need to work hard and wish to become entrepreneur. People who are young and have great mind need to introduce new ideas and use different market strategies which will be helpful for own progress and for country also.

In conclusion, People need to make their lives and their work better and should not relay on fixed salary and unsatisfactory jobs.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The explanation of why some people accept bad situations is a bit repetitive, focusing heavily on the example of unemployed youth in Pakistan. While the example is relevant, the analysis of the opposing view—that one should improve their situation—is underdeveloped. The argument for becoming an entrepreneur is introduced but lacks depth or specific supporting evidence. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that both sides of the argument are explored with equal weight and that your own opinion is supported by more detailed reasoning rather than general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, 'Instead of this' and 'Talking about view of such individuals' are awkward transitions that do not effectively link ideas. The progression of arguments is sometimes disjointed, particularly within the second paragraph where the transition from the general concept to the specific example is abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. Phrases like 'unsatisfactory job', 'small amount of money', and 'fixed salary' are used repeatedly. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'live in verse situation' (likely meaning 'adverse') and 'youngers' (which is not standard English). The range of vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic message, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. You should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to employment, economic challenges, and personal development to enhance the sophistication of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there is lot of youngers who has completed'), missing articles (e.g., 'in system of country'), and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'need to left their comfort zone'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentences lacking proper structure. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would be highly beneficial.
