Student answer (Band 5.5)

Everyone has phases in life it can be good sometime bad also , it is upon us how we deal with such situation. some people accept those bad sitations , while some on other hand try to run from such situation.

It is sometimes better to accept unsatifactory job rather than staying unemployed. It will reduce the risk of unemployment .Staying on low paying jobs will atleast pay your house rents, EMI's and even your grocery items. Accepting such bad situations will help you reudce your stress and anxiety which in-return will help you take better decision in future.

People who don't agree argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. If you have a well developed plan along with sponsers for your finances then you must try that path which can lead to improve poverty. for example one of my friend used to work with the company, her job role was to update the data sheets for every day report . But she was not happy with the salary so she quit the job and planned to start her own business from home .And what surprised us was that her baking business gave her more money along with the flexibility.

In my opinion I do believe that it is important to face any kind of situations with similng face, and must try to improe tha bad situation to good in your favour. As these can also sometimes led to poverty and unemployment,as not all startups have a good endings.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While the argument for accepting a job is clear, the counter-argument regarding improving one's situation is supported by a personal anecdote that is a bit simplistic. The conclusion is slightly contradictory, as it suggests facing situations with a 'smiling face' while also warning about the risks of startups, which makes the final stance a bit muddled. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more sophisticated reasoning rather than just listing basic benefits or risks.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is quite basic and sometimes mechanical. For instance, the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph is abrupt. There is a reliance on simple linking words like 'but' and 'and'. To improve, you should use a wider variety of cohesive devices (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') to better connect your sentences and paragraphs, ensuring a smoother flow of logic throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'sitations', 'unsatifactory', 'reudce', 'similng', and 'improe'. Additionally, some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'improve poverty' or 'good endings'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of variety and the frequency of spelling mistakes limit the score. Focusing on learning collocations and proofreading for common spelling errors will significantly improve your lexical range and accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'Everyone has phases in life it can be good sometime bad also' (run-on sentence), 'some people accept those bad sitations' (missing capitalization), and 'one of my friend' (should be 'friends'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas and periods. While the meaning is rarely obscured, the high frequency of errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence punctuation.
