Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, though the development is somewhat limited. You discuss the impact of difficult situations and the necessity of overcoming them, but the arguments lack depth and specific, well-developed examples. For instance, the mention of university students is a good start, but it is not fully connected to the broader argument about accepting versus changing a situation. To reach a higher band, ensure that each paragraph provides a clear, extended explanation of why one approach is superior to the other, rather than just stating the negative consequences of an unsatisfactory life.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Not only that but also' and 'Throughout the hard working'. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the transition between the discussion of the two views and your own opinion could be smoother. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences feel disjointed, which prevents the flow from being fully natural. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'full fil' (fulfill), 'accure' (achieve), 'hash condition' (harsh conditions), and 'mental unstable' (mental instability). While the meaning is generally conveyed, these errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the flow of reading. To improve, focus on learning the correct forms of words and common collocations, and try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to the topic of personal development and life challenges.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include missing articles ('as a example', 'to go to that profession'), subject-verb agreement errors ('human life face', 'this condition directly lead'), and incorrect word forms ('dipression', 'highly advise'). While these errors do not completely obscure the meaning, they occur frequently enough to distract the reader. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules, particularly verb tenses, pluralisation, and the correct use of articles, and proofread your work to catch these common slips.
