Student answer (Band 6.5)
Some people argue that the best interest lies in the acceptance of critical circumstances such as lack of financial aid and unsatisfactory workplace. While others believe an invidual shoud not be restricted to such situations and always be in the pursuit for the betterment of well-being. I strongly agree with the latter part as anyone should not be a victim of his sufferings.
On one hand, it is sometimes wise to accept the dilemma hovering around a person. Further experiments by attempting something irrational can escalate the situation for something worse, potentially landing an individual in unwanted scenarios. While trying to break the barrier of misfortunes by taking unnecessary risks, people may end up in even more difficult situations. For example, a person who is struggling financial is better off keeping a stable job that offers a low salary rather than being completely unemployed until a more secure opportunity becomes favourable. Therefore, accepting an exhausting situation can sometimes be a sensible temporary choice, particularly when changing it immediately could create greater obstacles.
On the other hand, i firmly believe that people should ultimately strive to improve circumstances that affect thier lives negatively. Scenarios of financial crisis and remaining in an unsatisfactory workplace for prolonged period can lead to frustration, reduced motivation and a lack of personal development. Similarly, individuals experiencing financial difficulties can take pratical steps such as developing new skills, finding additional sources of income or applying for better employment. Although these changes may require patience and effort, they can gradually make-shift to a more promising and fulfilling life.
In conclusion, accepting difficult circumstances can be resonable when immediate changes involve considerable risks. However, I believe that people should not be confined to undesirable situations and should make sensible efforts to improve their lives whenever possible.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The position is consistent throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the example of maintaining a low-paying job for stability versus the proactive approach of skill acquisition. However, the development could be slightly more nuanced; for instance, the argument for acceptance could be expanded beyond just 'irrational' risks to include the psychological benefits of patience. Overall, the response meets the requirements of the task effectively, providing a balanced discussion and a clear conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear progression of ideas. Each paragraph has a central topic, and the transition between the two viewpoints is smooth, using phrases like 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion'. Cohesive devices are used effectively, such as 'Similarly' and 'Therefore', to link sentences and ideas. The paragraphing is appropriate, with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The flow of the argument is easy to follow, and the relationship between ideas is clearly established throughout the text, demonstrating a good command of organizational structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally appropriate and sufficient for the task. The student uses some good collocations and topic-specific language, such as 'critical circumstances', 'financial crisis', and 'prolonged period'. There are a few minor errors in word choice or form, such as 'make-shift to' (which is used incorrectly here) and 'struggling financial' (should be 'financially'). Despite these occasional inaccuracies, the range of vocabulary is adequate to convey ideas clearly and with some precision. The student demonstrates an attempt to use more sophisticated language, which contributes to the overall clarity of the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There is a good attempt at using complex sentences, such as 'While trying to break the barrier of misfortunes by taking unnecessary risks, people may end up in even more difficult situations.' However, there are several grammatical slips, including 'an invidual shoud' (spelling), 'anyone should not be a victim' (awkward phrasing), and 'thier' (spelling). While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication or cause confusion for the reader. The control of grammar is generally good, though more attention to proofreading for minor slips would enhance the accuracy.
