Student answer (Band 5.0)

Although few individuals think that it is a good idea to choose a worst condition, for instance discomfort occupation or less expenses, but other people claim that it is better to try as well as enhance such problems.

Firstly, it is best to accept a bad situation due to lack of experience as when humans have no experience related to their profession then they should opt unsatisfactory job which helps to earn money. Therefore, person fulfill the needs of their family. Secondly, unemployment is the cause of shortage of money as if machines will work in the upcoming years, there is no value of hand made objects.

On the other hand, individuals should try and improve the situations as they do something new in their life, people enhance their knowledge as well as confidence level which helps to find occupation and earning more money. So, citizens complete their all desires.

In my opinion, it is better to try and improve the conditions rather than accept a bad situation since it spoil the lifestyle of humankind.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 175 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you address both views and provide an opinion, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient explanation or relevant examples. For instance, the point about 'machines' and 'hand-made objects' is disconnected from the prompt's focus on personal life situations. To improve, you must expand each body paragraph with detailed reasoning and concrete examples to fully explore the implications of accepting versus improving a difficult situation.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand', the logical flow between sentences is sometimes weak. For example, the transition from discussing the lack of experience to the impact of machines is abrupt and lacks a clear logical link. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds clearly upon the previous one will help create a more cohesive argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is generally limited and occasionally inaccurate. Phrases like 'discomfort occupation' and 'less expenses' are unnatural and do not convey the intended meaning clearly. You rely on basic vocabulary, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas effectively. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations (e.g., 'unsatisfactory job' instead of 'discomfort occupation') and using more precise terminology related to career and financial management. Expanding your range of synonyms will also help avoid repetition.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'few individuals think that it is a good idea to choose a worst condition' (should be 'worse') and 'person fulfill the needs' (missing article 'a' and subject-verb agreement). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors, such as the misuse of 'but' after 'Although'. Increasing your control over basic grammar, particularly articles, plurals, and verb forms, is essential for improvement.
