Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to discuss both views regarding whether to accept a bad situation or try to improve it, and provides a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times unclear due to language barriers. The writer touches upon reasons for accepting a poor job, such as financial necessity and lack of qualifications, and conversely mentions the risk of remaining unemployed while waiting for a better opportunity. While all parts of the prompt are addressed in a general sense, the arguments lack sufficient elaboration and clear examples, leading to an overall score at Band 4.0 based on the official task response descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The text is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression and overall coherence are frequently disrupted by confusing referencing and a lack of cohesive devices. Pronoun referencing is often ambiguous, such as switching between plural and singular forms ('they earn some money and run your home things'). Cohesive devices are minimal or misused, and the transitions between paragraphs feel abrupt. The overall arrangement of information is difficult to follow at times, preventing the text from reaching a higher band. This performance aligns with the Band 4.0 descriptors for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and often inaccurate, which severely strains the reader's understanding. Examples such as 'agree a worst conditions', 'less amount of earning', and 'build laziness in our activity' demonstrate severe limitations in word choice and collocation. The range of vocabulary is restricted to simple, common terms with frequent errors in word formation and parts of speech (e.g., using 'efforts' as a verb). These issues place the response firmly within the Band 4.0 category for Lexical Resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
Grammatical accuracy is a major weakness in this essay. There is a very limited range of sentence structures, and almost every sentence contains severe grammatical errors. Examples include tense inconsistencies, subject-verb agreement errors ('Many thinks', 'bills of any kinds and many fees which pay'), and faulty complex sentence structures. Punctuation and capitalization are also widely neglected. Because errors are frequent and often distort meaning, the response meets the criteria for Band 4.0 under Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
