Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, it is prevelant in our daily lives that people believe that accepting bad situations, such as an unsatisfactoy job or shortage of money. While some argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. Although, both views have their own merit. I believe that it is far better to try for better circumstances rather than staying in the same unsatisfactory situations.
Some believe that choosing a secure job and sticking to it is more safer than taking a risk. Most people stick to their usual jobs because the salary feels safer and the job is much more attractive on the outside. Individuals stay in the same company for years and years due to their dire circumstances, they have a family to take care of and usually survive hand to mouth desperate to make the ends meet. The constant unhappiness causes burn out and often leads to people having low morale and high stress levels. Moreover, the expectations of society often push an individual in to staying in ban situations despite their lack of happiness. Students often opt for degrees that they are not interested in.
Others argue that it is better to struggle and strive for improved situations. It motivates a person to work hard and increases productivity where they are happy. If an employee is dissatisfied with their current role, they should be motivated to earn more qualifications and if he believes that he is qualified enough to start his own bussiness he should take the risk and choose improvement. For instance many current billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff bezos took the risk once for improvement. Furthermore, staying and accepting less causes lack of self respect.
Suffice to say, it seems safer to stay with secure job due to shortage of money and financial issues but one should always look for ways to improve the bad situation at hand.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views on accepting bad situations versus trying to improve them, and presents a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, although the introductory paragraph contains sentence fragment issues where the first view is framed as a dependent clause ('While some argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. Although, both views have their own merit.'). The arguments regarding job security versus striving for success are supported with examples such as Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos. However, some arguments in the second paragraph become slightly unfocused by drifting into societal expectations and students choosing degrees. Overall, the task is adequately fulfilled to a Band 6.5 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay presents a clear overall arrangement with distinct paragraphs for the introduction, body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are used to signal shifts between ideas, such as 'While some argue', 'Moreover', and 'Furthermore'. However, paragraphing and sentence boundaries occasionally falter, as seen in the fragmented opening statements and the run-on sentence structure in the third paragraph ('If an employee is dissatisfied with their current role, they should be motivated to earn more qualifications and if he believes that he is qualified enough to start his own bussiness he should take the risk and choose improvement. For instance...'). Referencing is mostly clear, but the logical progression is occasionally disrupted by punctuation and mechanical cohesion faults, leading to a Band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The writer attempts a range of vocabulary suitable for the topic, incorporating terms such as 'circumstances', 'financial issues', 'self respect', and 'productivity'. However, there are several noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'prevelant' instead of prevalent, 'unsatisfactoy' instead of unsatisfactory, 'bussiness' instead of business, and 'ban situations' instead of bad situations. The phrasing 'make the ends meet' contains a slight article error. While the vocabulary is adequate to convey the meaning, these recurrent lexical inaccuracies prevent the response from achieving a higher band, placing it solidly at Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, including conditional sentences ('If an employee is dissatisfied...') and relative clauses. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and punctuation lapses, particularly in the introduction where fragments are punctuated as complete sentences. Other errors include pronoun mismatch ('if he believes... he should take the risk... For instance many current billionaires... took the risk once for improvement') and missing prepositions ('push an individual in to staying'). While these errors do not seriously impede overall communication, they occur regularly enough to restrict the score to a Band 6.0.
