Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some individuals believe that when bad time comes which means not comfortable with a job or in terms of financial crisis, the best to thing to do is to face these issues, while others argue that the best solution is to fix the areas which needs improvement. I disagree with the first statement because if you accept the bad situtation it demovates you and Agree with the second statement because people will able to get the reward of this tough time in future life

On the one hand, regarding accepting a difficult situation it finds dangerous as this thing drop your moral. For example, a graduate student who goes to another country on a study visa after completing a bachelor in his home country by taking loan or buying any property or land. This person will work hard during studies by doing odd jobs in abroad and cover the tuition fee and daily expenses. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views—accepting a bad situation versus trying to improve it—and states a personal opinion in the introduction. However, the development of ideas is severely hampered by the incomplete final paragraph, which breaks off mid-sentence. Additionally, the essay fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 250 words, coming in at 232 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed, leading to under-developed arguments and an uncompleted conclusion. To improve, you must ensure all thoughts are fully articulated and that you exceed the 250-word threshold.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

There is a basic organizational structure with an introduction and two body paragraphs beginning with 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, overall progression is disrupted by abrupt stopping in the final paragraph and mechanical transitions. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as pronoun use in the second paragraph ('this person', 'the above mentioned individual'). Paragraphing is attempted, but the incomplete ending shows insufficient control over structural development. Cohesive devices are used rather simplistically and at times inaccurately.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, but it features noticeable repetition of phrases like 'bad situation' and 'difficult time'. There are several word-choice and collocation errors, such as 'when bad time comes' instead of 'hard times arise', 'drop your moral' instead of 'lower your morale', and 'understanding their self more better'. Less common lexical items are attempted ('financial crisis', 'professional life'), but inaccurate collocations and spelling issues restrict the score to this band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The text displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures frequently contain errors. Examples include 'which means not comfortable with a job' and 'people will able to get'. There are also missing words, incorrect verb forms ('wh faces' and 'will able to handle the...'), and punctuation flaws. Frequent grammatical errors can cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the intended meaning, particularly in the poorly constructed second and third paragraphs.
